Man sentenced in shooting outside hospital
A man pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in the parking lot at Memorial Hospital Miramar.
Ricardo Manuel Gutierrez pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the death of Antonio Noisette, 55, a cook who worked at the hospital.
Noisette's body was found in his SUV in the parking lot at the hospital in July 2009. Police said Gutierrez had been waiting for Noisette to arrive at work and shot Noisette several times before he could get out of his vehicle.
Surveillance video and a partial palm print led detectives to Gutierrez.
"That man is a criminal. He's evil. I don't know how to describe him anymore. He's a monster," said Noisette's wife, Voilata Noisette.
"Every single time I wake up, I realize my father is never coming back," said the victim's son.
Gutierrez accepted a plea deal of 30 years in prison.
It was hard for Noisette's family members to swallow.
"What happened, I'm not satisfied with the sentence, but I'll take it. That man deserves life for what he did to my husband," said Voilata Noisette.
Investigators said a love triangle was the motive for the killing. According to investigators, Gutierrez became enraged after he learned his wife was seeing Antonio Noisette on the side.
"People make mistakes, but I really don't think my father deserved to die in such a violent, just disgusting way like that," said Noisette's daughter, Fabienne Noisette. "He was a really good guy."
